Mumbai : An oxygen cylinder leaked while being filled at Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital in Maharashtra's Nashik on Wednesday. District collector Suraj Mandhare said that 22 Covid-19 patients have been killed in the incident.



The state's FDA minister Dr Rajendra Shingane called it an "unfortunate incident" and ordered an enquiry. "It's an unfortunate incident. We're trying to get a detailed report," Shingane was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said what happend in Nashik is terrible. "I demand that the other patients be helped and shifted if needed. We demand a detailed inquiry," Fadnavis told ANI.


Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope, meanwhile, said the leakage happened due to a leakage reported in the valves of the tanker adding more information has to be obtained.(source: The Hindustan Times)
